The Obama White House has really perfected the art of the diplomatic draft.
On Friday, Ambassador David Jacobson, our top guy in Canada delivered two cases of beer to Prime Minister Stephen Harper courtesy of President Obama. Harper and Obama had each bet a case of beer on their national hockey teams in the 2010 Vancouver gold medal game. Molson Canadian to Harper if Canada won. Yuengling to Obama if the US won.
Following Canada’s 3-2 win, Obama made good on his bet. Ever the good sport, he threw in an extra case of Yuengling with the Molson, and ever politically correct, Harper donated the two cases of beer to the Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto.
